Sears I Can Swim!

Dolphins (Levels 1, 2 and 3)

The first class without parents!

H20 Aware Education

H20 Aware skills and messages will be taught through activities that will equip swimmers with the knowledge and skill ability to be pro-active in realistic situations and create awareness of potential dangers associated in and around the water. Water sport safety teaches swimmers how to have fun and be safe when playing a variety of sports. Swimmers will take safety messages and skills away having learned them in a fun, positive, controlled environment.

Topics Include: Boating Safety, Ice & Cold Survival, Open water safety, Pool safety, Diving safety, Water Sport safety, When & where to go near water and Water Rescue.

How are Dolphins Evaluated?

Dolphins participants are evaluated on a continuous basis, being rewarded when a skill is achieved. Sears I Can Swim does not use the pass/fail method of evaluation but rather the complete/incomplete approach. Swimmers receive a dolphin theme poster, for tracking the skills that they achieved. When the level is complete the swimmers will receive a Dolphins 1, 2, or 3 sticker.

Summary:

The Dolphins levels are a prepatory stage before entering Stage 1 advanced or beginner Stage 2. The Sears I Can Swim program introduces the four main competitive strokes at a early age in the Dolphins levels; Freestyle, Back Crawl, Breast Stroke and Butterfly.
