This class may be repeated as often as you like until your child is ready for Dinos!
What do Ducklings Learn?
- This parent-and-baby class introduces children to the water.
- It has been developed for babies 3 months – 1 year
- The goal is to ensure children are safe, relaxed and having fun.
- Babies participate in the class through songs and games.
- Parents learn safety techniques for holding their baby in the pool.
How are Ducklings Evaluated?
- The Ducklings classes are participatory classes.
- At the end of each session your baby will receive a certificate of participation and a fun sticker
- Swimmers are continuously rewarded for their achievements
What do parents learn?
Signs and symptoms of:- Hypothermia, choking
- Parental responsibilities in and around water
- Comfortable and safe movement through the water with baby
- Games, water fun and play
What is the next step?
- The Ducklings class is designed for babies 3 months to 1 year with parent
- You and your child can participate in the Ducklings level a number of times during his or her development and discover something new every time
- Once babies are old enough they move on to Dinos (1-3 years with parent) lessons.
How can parents encourage?
- Practice games and songs during bath time
- Go to the pool with your family often
- Enjoy the lessons with your child, providing an enthusiastic energy
- Be understanding of the different levels of development
Tips for a successful class
- Avoid bulky diapers; buy water safe diapers with plastic pants/covers
- Avoid scheduling lesson times close to nap times
- Bring your baby's favorite bath toy
